Lead Sleeve started with a simple question: dog owners personalise everything else — beds, bowls, collars, jumpers — so why is the leash, the one thing they hold every single day, still anonymous?

We designed a sleeve that slips over any standard, training or retractable lead and acts as a print-ready surface for sublimation. The result is a product that works for the lone dog owner who wants their pup's name in foot-high letters, the charity organising a sponsored walk, and the maker building a six-figure Etsy shop.

We see it as the next big thing to enter the pet space — a category-defining sublimation blank that finally gives makers, brands and dog owners a canvas worth printing on.

Lead Sleeve is a father-and-son business built off the back of a bereavement — the loss of David's wife and Ben's mother. Looking for something to throw themselves into together, the two started a small pet project to keep busy, and slowly found themselves obsessed with personalisation and customisation.

That fascination led them deep into sublimation. As hobbyists, they spoke with dog owners, print-on-demand makers and sublimation print providers up and down the country, and kept hearing the same thing: there was almost no new innovation or technology coming through to the category.

So they set out to build it themselves. The Lead Sleeve is the first of many sublimation products the two are developing — starting with dog lead sleeves, covers and wraps, and growing from there.
